Tithing
Tithing is to give and be involved in the stewardship or management of possessions and to give a tenth of our prosperity to God by giving money, or objects of value in lieu of money.
The scriptures both Old and New Testaments, speak of the stewardship of our material wealth. We are to freely give of that which we have received and for which we are responsible accordingly. Tithes and offerings are examples of giving. An offering is given after we have given the tithe.
Also, the poor or otherwise needy are to be recipients of our stewardship of giving (Deut. 15:11; Prov. 3:9-10).
