Compulsiveness is the seemingly irresistible impulses or urges toward performance of irrational actions. Examples are : Compulsive gambling, sex offenses, eating, talking, drinking, working, child abuse, etc.
A basic lack of self-discipline and general wilful yielding to the lusts of the flesh accompanying such are listed in Gal. 5:19-21. Lasciviousness (lustful behavior) and revelings are closely allied to compulsiveness, if not saying the same thing.
One end product of the works of the flesh is to be under demonic influence and possibly to be given over to a reprobate mind (Rom. 1:28-32).
